The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African American military pilots (fighter and bomber) and airmen who fought in World War II. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group (Medium) of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). The Tuskegee airmen received praise for their excellent combat record earned while protecting white American bombers from enemy fighters. The group was awarded three Distinguished Unit Citations. Grandpa Eugene Barnes was a highly decorated pilot with the Tuskegee Pilots. Stories of his accomplishments led to our love of flight. Our start in flight began with model airplanes then RC Planes. After joining the Air Force as an electrician, Antuan Barnes had countless hours flying in a flight simulator during his work maintaining the shelters and warehouses storing Planes ranging from F-16’s to B-52’s. Later, his journey led to flying drones as a hobby to becoming licensed to provide drone services.
